MEPCO Bill Calculator – Unit Estimation
Want a rough idea of your next MEPCO bill? Choose single or three phase, pick your consumer category and enter the units you used, and the calculator adds up the charges for you. It uses the domestic electricity rates NEPRA notified in S.R.O. 279(I)/2026 in February 2026. We last checked these rates against that notification on 17 September 2026.
It works for home connections on single or three phase supply with a sanctioned load below 5 kW. It does not cover time-of-use, lifeline, prepaid, commercial or industrial connections.
MEPCO Bill Calculator
Fixed charges assume a 2 kW sanctioned load.

The fuel price adjustment (FPA) is not included. NEPRA sets a new FPA every month and it can raise or lower your bill, so treat this total as an estimate.
Note: This is an estimate. The fuel price adjustment (FPA) is not included, because NEPRA sets a new one every month, and your bill can also carry a quarterly adjustment and arrears. Always pay the amount printed on your official bill.
How the calculator works out your bill
The calculator adds up the main charges on a MEPCO home electricity bill in this order:
- Cost of electricity: protected consumers pay Rs 10.54 per unit for the first 100 units and Rs 13.01 for each unit after that, up to 200. Unprotected consumers pay one rate on every unit, set by the band their monthly total falls in.
- Fixed charges: the sanctioned load in kW multiplied by the fixed charge for your band. The calculator assumes a 2 kW load for single phase and 4 kW for three phase.
- F.C. surcharge: Rs 0.43 per unit, the financing cost surcharge.
- Electricity duty (optional): 1.5% of the cost of electricity, added only if you tick the box, since some bills show it and some don’t.
- GST: 18% of all the charges above.
MEPCO domestic unit rates used in this calculator
These rates come from S.R.O. 279(I)/2026 and apply to home connections with a sanctioned load below 5 kW. The same schedule applies to all the former WAPDA distribution companies, so MEPCO charges the same per-unit rates as IESCO, LESCO or PESCO.
| Category and monthly units | Rate per unit | Fixed charge per kW |
|---|---|---|
| Protected, 1 to 100 units | Rs 10.54 | Rs 200 |
| Protected, 101 to 200 units | Rs 13.01 | Rs 300 |
| Unprotected, 1 to 100 units | Rs 22.44 | Rs 275 |
| Unprotected, 101 to 200 units | Rs 28.91 | Rs 300 |
| Unprotected, 201 to 300 units | Rs 33.10 | Rs 350 |
| Unprotected, 301 to 400 units | Rs 36.46 | Rs 400 |
| Unprotected, 401 to 500 units | Rs 38.95 | Rs 500 |
| Unprotected, 501 to 600 units | Rs 40.22 | Rs 675 |
| Unprotected, 601 to 700 units | Rs 41.85 | Rs 675 |
| Unprotected, above 700 units | Rs 47.20 | Rs 675 |
Important: You count as a protected consumer only if you used 200 units or less in each of the last six months. Going over 200 units in a single month moves you to the higher unprotected rates, which can cost you protected status for months afterwards.
Single phase or three phase: does it change your bill?
Not in its rates. A home connection pays the same per-unit rates and the same fixed charge per kW whether it is single or three phase.
What differs is sanctioned load, and three-phase homes often have a larger one. Fixed charges are billed per kW, so the calculator assumes 2 kW for single phase and 4 kW for three phase.
For an unprotected home using 250 units, that means about Rs 700 in fixed charges on single phase and Rs 1,400 on three phase.
A home with a sanctioned load of 5 kW or more is billed on time-of-use rates, which this calculator does not cover.
What the calculator leaves out
- Fuel price adjustment (FPA): NEPRA sets a new one every month, so it can raise or lower your bill. Your bill shows the amount for that month.
- Quarterly tariff adjustment: a revision that runs for a set period and then ends.
- Your exact sanctioned load: fixed charges use an assumed 2 kW for single phase and 4 kW for three phase.
- Arrears, installments, and income tax on higher bills.
